<p><b><i>Jaipur. </i></b>The third edition of the Marudhara Half Marathon, organized by Kalptaru Shiksha Samiti with the aim of promoting health and fitness awareness in the city, concluded successfully on Sunday. More than 2,000 runners from different age groups participated enthusiastically in the 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km categories, making the event a memorable celebration of fitness.</p>
<p>The marathon was flagged off by the Chief Guest, Mr. Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Rajasthan.</p>
<p>Distinguished guests included Mr. Jyotikumar Satija, IG, Railway Protection Force (RPF), North Western Railway; Mr. Ashish Sharma from ANS Solar; Mr. Rohit Patni from Shubhaashish Marina; and Mr. Dinesh Pahadia, General Manager, RIICO. The main attraction of the event was Ms. Aditi Sharma, Miss India Celeste India 2025, whose presence added to the excitement and enthusiasm of the participants.</p>
<p>The marathon commenced from the Bombay Hospital, Jaipur campus. Runners followed a route through the Sitapura Industrial Area up to Shubhaashish Marina and returned to Bombay Hospital, where they crossed the finish line. The energy and determination of participants were visible throughout the route.</p>
<p>On this occasion, Mr. Neeraj K. Pawan said, “The objective of the Marudhara Half Marathon goes beyond just running. It aims to promote health awareness while also encouraging Rajasthan’s rich culture, art, and traditions.”</p>
<p>IG RPF Mr. Jyotikumar Satija said, “Sporting events like this not only promote fitness but also foster a sense of responsibility and discipline in society. The participation of youth, families, and people from various age groups reflects how a healthy lifestyle is gradually becoming a people’s movement.”</p>
<p>ANS Solar was the title sponsor of the event, while Shubhaashish Marina and RIICO were the co-sponsors. Participants from various age groups actively took part and demonstrated their commitment to a healthy lifestyle.</p>
<p>The organizers stated that the marathon aimed to inspire people to adopt regular exercise and spread awareness about fitness in society. All participants who completed the race were provided with T-shirts, medals, and refreshments.</p>

<p data-start="677" data-end="1187">The meticulously designed lehenga, adorned with 5D peacock embroidery and embellished with real pearls and rubies, was selected by the Europe-Asia Fashion Alliance (EAFA), the official fashion partner of Cannes. Crafted entirely using traditional handwork on Khadi tissue, the lehenga featured India’s national bird — the peacock — highlighted with silver ghungroos and intricate detailing. The total cost of creating the garment reportedly reached ₹4 lakh, a testament to its craftsmanship and cultural value.</p>
<p data-start="1189" data-end="1529">What makes the selection even more exceptional is that Cannes typically favors western gown formats for its red carpet events. But Dr. Sharma’s design broke conventions — it impressed the selection committee so much that they lifted the gown-only requirement, allowing her to retain the bridal form and merely adapt it to a gown silhouette.</p>
<p data-start="1531" data-end="1841">Unfortunately, as the festival approached in mid-May, rising tensions between India and Pakistan led to canceled flights from Jodhpur and widespread logistical issues. With her travel plans disrupted, Dr. Sharma missed the opportunity to physically attend the Cannes Film Festival, which ran from May 13 to 24.</p>
<p data-start="1843" data-end="2215">Despite this setback, Dr. Sharma has already received invitations to both the next edition of Cannes and the prestigious Paris Fashion Show, reaffirming the industry’s recognition of her talent and artistry. She underwent a rigorous five-round selection process that included video interviews and detailed dress sketches, with final confirmation arriving in February 2025.</p>

The chief guest of the program was Khandela (Sikar), MLA Mr. Subhash Meel. During the program, Principal of Vedanta PG Girls College, Reengus, Prof. Dr. Shubha Sharma, National Coordinator and Administration Head of Vedanta Foundation, Kolkata, Mrs. Sujata Gyan and other dignitaries were present. The objective of this initiative is to make the youth self-reliant by providing them employment opportunities and encourage their active participation in the economic progress of the country.</p>

<p>Appreciating the organisation of the Yuva Rojgar Mela, MLA Khandela (Sikar), Shri Subhash Meel said: "Today, most of the youth are attracted only towards government jobs, whereas there are immense career opportunities in the private sector as well. This initiative by Vedanta Foundation to make the youth aware of the possibilities of the private sector is not only commendable but also the need of the hour. Such efforts make the youth aware and motivate them to become self-reliant and professionally competent."</p>

This fair is providing a platform to the youth to connect directly with private sector companies and get employment opportunities. In this five-day fair, students will not only be exposed to job options, but they will also be informed about career guidance and industry requirements. <p>Many companies like Manpower Consultancy, Vedanta Resources, Rajasthan Digital Tiles, K.V. The companies offered packages of 2.5 LPA for freshers.</p>

<p>This 5-day job fair will run from 27 May to 8 June and will be held at various locations in Jaipur. <p><span>Ashish Sahasrabuddhe, Common man from Sydney Australia once dared to dream of making a film and release it in Cinema Hall. He was able to carve his path to the filmmaking while balancing his day-to-day job, routine and daily chores.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Originally from Pune, no background in family, no formal training behind the camera or in front of the Camera, constantly moving against the flow, with his own experiments, failures, determination, consistent efforts without giving up was able to watch the release of his Own Hindi Film “Socially Suna Hai” in Cinema Hall on 11th August 2024 in Sydney Australia.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>To backtrack on his educational background, he completed his education in a Marathi Medium school, but he had an interest in the Technology sector and IT Programming. With his limited English skills, he faced initial challenges in learning the intricacies of learning computer programming languages in his initial exposure to the field. Rather than succumbing to disappointment, Ashish refused to give up. Although everyone around him pursued traditional careers like CA or CWA, he still chose to follow his passion for computers. He never followed the crowd and always stayed true to what he loved, whether it was learning to play the Tabla or enjoying the traditional Marathi Dholki. However, despite his efforts, on many occasions, he was replaced by someone better at the last minute. Almost every time when it was show time, he felt overshadowed and under-appreciated by the crowd around him. He decided to pursue a career in IT rather than running after Art. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Ashish Sahasrabuddhe, Director of THINK GRAND FILMS and Marvel9 pvt ltd, notes on his journey “My confidence kept me moving forward on my path, although I felt that something somewhere was missing, and my potential was stagnating, as I wasn’t able to achieve everything I had aimed for so far in my life; I decided to step up to the challenge and left my comfort zone, by moving to Hyderabad, where I tested my mettle in new technologies. From there, job opportunities took me to the UK, America, and the Middle East, where corporate life, with its exceptional challenges, taught me extremely valuable lessons. My confidence, English-speaking skills, and various other abilities were honed, tested and improved significantly.”</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Eventually, an opportunity arose that brought Ashish to Sydney. Here, he settled down with his job, family, and home, finding a city that offered Pune’s cool climate, San Francisco’s work culture, and an excellent work-life balance. However, his desire to do something in the arts never faded. Learning from past experiences, Ashish decided to take matters into his own hands and began working on film projects independently.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Ashish’s journey was not a solo endeavour. His wife, Poonam Sahasrabuddhe, who had her own successful acting career, played a significant role in their creative partnership. From 2001 to 2004, she acted in various Marathi and Hindi television shows, including “Damini,” “Sambandh” (SAB TV), “Aflatoon” (SAB TV), “Popat Zala Re” (ETV Marathi), “Chaar Diwas Sasuche” (ETV Marathi), “Samantar” (ETV Marathi), “Yeh Dil Kya Kare” (Zee TV), “Kirdaar” (ETV Urdu), “Bandini” (Doordarshan), and “Don’t Worry Ho Jaega” (Sahara TV). She was also nominated for the Best Anchor award by Maharashtra Times for “Popat Zala Re.” Her experience and insights have been invaluable in Ashish’s filmmaking journey, making her an integral part of their shared creative pursuits.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>In 2016-17, Ashish created an English film titled *”Just One More Day,”* which taught him a great deal about filmmaking. Following this, he produced numerous user videos and rap videos, refining his skills along the way. The concept of *”Arrived in Australia”* emerged from his interest in connecting new entrepreneurs in Australia with the Marathi community through interviews, helping Marathi entrepreneurs expand their reach.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>During the COVID-19 lockdown, when traditional filming was impossible, Ashish came up with the idea of creating a web series using mobile phones and remote directions. He wrote a script and involved several artists from Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth to create the first web series called *”Oh My Friends.”* This experience boosted his confidence, leading him to create another web series about his first job experience in Australia, titled *”Oh My Job.”*</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Ashish states “I always wanted to do something in Marathi, and after the lockdown lifted in 2021, I started my ideation process to make a film in my mother-tongue, Marathi. I created my first ever Marathi dominant 50-minute short-film called *”Ghar Impossible,”* involving actors and cast of a multitude and rich backgrounds and ethnicities, based on various events in the Australian market.”</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>With the new-gained confidence that even Marathi is an amazing medium to propagate the messages he wants to reach his audience through his films, he gained the determination to make his first-ever full-length feature Marathi film (1 hour, 13 minutes) in Sydney, Australia, titled, ’The Filmmaker’. Taking on the responsibilities of concept creation, scriptwriting, and direction, Ashish completed the project with Indian, Chinese, and Australian actors residing in Sydney. Without any commercial backing and relying solely on his own savings, Ashish brought this film to life.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>The storyline of “The Filmmaker” is deeply rooted in reality, portraying the challenges a common man faces when venturing into the film industry—how people mock you, deceive you, and how even friends might fail to help or pull you down. These aspects resonate not just with filmmakers but with anyone endeavouring enough in starting their own business.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>The film won the Best Writer award at the Marathi International Film Festival in New Jersey, USA, and won Best Experimental Film at the CAFE IRANI CHAII INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in Mumbai. English-speaking audiences appreciated the film, and thanks to English subtitles, viewers in Australia could easily understand it.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Ashish has created a six-episode series, focusing on the topic of men’s struggles and expectations from society, in English-Hindi. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span>Recently he Directed a Hindi Film and released it in Cinema halls. Being on an altogether new trajectory, he worked 3-4 months tirelessly day and night to make it ready to be shown in the Cinema halls. This time, he wrote the screenplay and background score. This film release has put him to the next level of appreciation in the public’s eye. The astounding response made first-time viewers re-watch the film. Following this, Ashish plans to work on more film projects, including another Hindi film, for which he has already written the script, and plans to begin casting and filming soon, all set to be made in Sydney, Australia.</span></p>

<p><span>Reflecting on his journey, Ashish is proud of what he has accomplished. From being an ambition-filled person in Pune to actually achieving his dreams and becoming a producer, writer, editor, and director in Sydney, Ashish Sahasrabuddhe’s story is a testament to perseverance and passion. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Academic performance in schools and the education system has always been a prime consideration of an individual's intellectual and professional potential. It is understood that higher marks lead to better opportunities, paving the way for a secure future. </p>
<p>However, over the past decade, it has become increasingly apparent that children, after graduating from schools with high grades, and landing traditionally “secure” jobs across sectors, struggle with cornerstone professional skills like coping with stress, empathetic peer interaction, compassion for self, and resilience.</p>
<p>This discovery, globally, has sparked a conversation on re-envisioning the educational landscape. Why are students finding it difficult to learn? Is it anxiety or a sense of uncertainty about the future? Or is there something more?</p>
<p>Read on for a sit down with Monal Jayaram, Co-founder and Director, School of Education and Systems Change (SOESC) at the Piramal Foundation. In this interview, we explore the approach SOESC has taken to mitigate this crucial gap to achieve transformative results.</p>
<p><strong>Q I.  What are some of the challenges that you see impacting children’s education in India today? </strong></p>
<p>A: Three questions drive our work at the School of Education &amp; System Change at Piramal School of Leadership. First, why are children unable to read and write despite intense country-wide efforts? Second, will focusing only on reading &amp; writing make children future-ready? And third, how can school systems transform to realize that 21st-century education cannot be delivered through 20th-century thinking, behaviour, and systems? In fact, in one of his speeches, PM Narendra Modi too has made a note of this. </p>
<p>We work with eight hypotheses built over the last 15 years as to why students aren’t learning. And we realize that it stems from their difficult backgrounds. There is violence, abuse, trauma, and neglect that impact a child, which is called Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). Research shows that children affected by ACE have a lower brain functioning capacity, further impacting learning problems. </p>
<p>Then there is the additional layer of social discrimination based on religion, caste, and gender. Child labour and child marriages are still relevant in India. In pure numbers, as many as 4.35 million children aged between 5 and 14 years are still caught in child labour (Census 2011). Nearly one in five young girls in India is married before they turn 18, often dropping out of school as a result.</p>
<p>As we move towards a Viksit Bharat, we have to understand that Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) is not enough - we have to make a conscious shift towards building 21st-century Competencies. Imagine a school system that enables students to build an entrepreneurial mindset, where their agency and problem-solving skills are nurtured so that tomorrow, they can create jobs for themselves. Most importantly, the underlying factor as we make a shift towards an unprecedented future is to build agency, resilience, and compassion in students.</p>
<p><strong>Q II:  What is unique about SOESC’s approach to addressing these gaps and transforming the education landscape?</strong></p>
<p>A: At the Piramal School of Leadership, our education systems transformation thinking is established in three layers. The first is 21st Century Education which unlocks agency in children and prepares them for the future. The second is Leadership Development and Personal Transformation, which unlocks agency among Middle Managers from government systems; and the third is Organization Development of Government Institutions to transform institutional culture with compassion and Sewa Bhaav.</p>
<p>We have evolved seven potential solutions - Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning (SEE Learning), Project-based Learning, Aesthetic Literacy, Physical Literacy, School to Work, Compassionate Gender-transformative Education, and Digital Literacy. Our solutions are integrated into the government system to make a sustainable impact. This happens via processes like assessment reform, scholarship reform, reforms in the State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT), State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and District Institute of Educational Training (DIET), process reengineering, and governance reform.</p>
<p>Over the last 15 years, our interventions have demonstrated behavioural change across middle managers and teachers and achieved improvement outcomes in 21st-century competencies, like critical thinking, compassion, and life-long learning. </p>
<p>Solutions like SEE Learning have shown over 11% improvement in students’ 21st-century competency scores, and solutions like Project-Based Learning have shown over 20% improvement in student performance from middle and secondary schools in Language, Math, and Science. </p>
<p>Our approach has enabled us to work in 91 districts across eight states. We collaborate with over 200 state institutions, 1.6 lakh schools, 12.5 thousand Middle Managers, and 6.5 lakh teachers to serve approximately 1.2 crore children.</p>
<p><strong>Q III. Why do you think India, particularly Rajasthan, needs SEE Learning today?</strong></p>
<p>A. The world we live in is becoming more dynamic. The ever-evolving technology landscape, the impending climate crisis, and the resulting shift in the job market requirements are making it important to equip adolescents with life skills beyond the academic curriculum. Students today need to be resilient to varying degrees of change. Our National Education Policy 2020 also highlights the importance of SEE Learning for the holistic development of children.</p>
<p>Specifically, in the case of Rajasthan, we have spoken with education authorities who have themselves recognized that early marriage, early pregnancy, and child labor exist despite best efforts. Officials at the centre and state have also shared a deep concern around rising cases of suicide and related mental health concerns, as well as social-emotional well-being among adolescents. I believe the need for something as revolutionary as SEE Learning becomes apparent even more so.</p>
<p><strong>Q IV: Has the status quo changed since SOESC, PSL jumped into action in Rajasthan?</strong></p>
<p>A: There are different signifiers to how our work in Rajasthan has been transformative. If we look at pure numbers, from operating in only one district (Jhunjhunu) in 2019, today we reach 33 districts across the state.</p>
<p>There are also moving stories of transformation. For instance, there’s one of a  14-year-old girl from Chirawa, Rajasthan. Such was her emotional struggle that the inability to express herself resulted in outbursts of anger and isolation. And then, through our SEE Learning intervention, which we did in partnership with the Government of Rajasthan, she was introduced to grounding exercises. Today, she has acquired the tools to identify and express her emotions effectively.</p>
<p>It’s not just students - even teachers, government officials, and the foundation’s staff, who once grappled with emotional pressures, are transformed today. We can see this transformation even at senior levels within the state education ecosystem. For example, Shri Kamalendra Singh Ranawat ji, the Deputy Director of Rajasthan State Council of Educational Research and Training (RSCERT), was feeling quite overwhelmed with his daily routine. Today, however, he’s a trainer for the SEE Learning program in the state, teaching his colleagues how to build emotional resilience.</p>
<p><strong>Q V. What is the way forward now, from here?</strong></p>
<p>A. I can confidently say that the future of SEE Learning now holds higher promise. Through continued collaboration among educators, policymakers, researchers, NGOs, and communities, we are today better placed to create holistic learning environments. I believe it’s essential to recognize that integrating social, emotional, and ethical learning into educational practice is crucial for cultivating responsible, empathetic, and resilient individuals.</p>]]> </content:encoded>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The treatment of lung cancer depends on the stage of the disease. In early stages, surgery is often the most effective treatment option. Surgical procedures, such as lobectomies (removal of part of the lung) or pneumonectomies (removal of an entire lung), can be curative.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For more advanced cases, a combination of therapies is used. Chemotherapy involves the use of drugs to kill or halt the growth of cancer cells. Targeted therapies focus on specific genetic mutations that drive cancer progression, while radiation therapy targets and destroys cancer cells, often in conjunction with other treatments.</p>

However, his exemplary musical talent drew people to him. Primarily a vocalist, he performed at numerous events across India, captivating audiences with his stage presence and eccentricity.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In India, he performed at prestigious festivals like the Kut Festival in Manipur and the NEC Tamchon Football Tournament, with dedicated performances broadcast on national television channels like Doordarshan. As a pivotal figure in the Underground Music League, he helped establish a vibrant Hip-Hop and R&amp;B scene in Delhi.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As college life ended, Donny aimed for his dream of attending Berklee College of Music. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<div style="text-align: justify;"><span><strong>Jaipur; 6th May 2024:</strong> IIHMR University’s healthcare-focused IIHMR Start-ups, a prominent unit of IIHMR Foundation rooted in Jaipur, Rajasthan has recently launched Saamarthya 2.O, "An Exclusive Growth Incubation Program” to support start-ups in the post-MVP or revenue-generating phase to accelerate their growth trajectory. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span>The 2nd edition recognised 15 highly innovative start-ups marking approximately 114% surge in comparison to Saamarthya Chapter 1.  The selected start-ups will benefit from the financial aid of up to 15 lakhs being provided to them after completion of the incubation program. comprehensive incubation support provided by IIHMR Start-ups including guidance on gaining traction, enhancing healthcare and business knowledge, client connect, fundraising, and accessing the supportive network of IIHMR which the organization has gained over 40 years of its existence. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span>Remarkably, over 200 aspiring start-ups from across India applied for incubation support. The program attracted a diverse range of applications, including ventures focusing on tech-led innovations in healthcare, SaaS-based solutions for healthcare, AR/VR applications in healthcare, Fintech solutions in healthcare, wearables for mental health and various other domains. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span>Dr. PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University, emphasizing the program’s significance in stimulating the next generation of healthcare pioneers shared, “We are thrilled to launch Saamarthya 2.0 and empower these visionary change-makers who are reshaping the healthcare sector. Amidst the dynamic environment, supporting such inventive start-ups will empower the nation to tackle critical gaps within the healthcare sector. IIHMR Start-ups has aided 53 new ventures up-till now, reflecting IIHMR University’s steady commitment to fostering innovation in the healthcare ecosystem and building stronger grounds for all.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span>The start-ups presented a wide array of impactful solutions, from affordable diagnostic services for remote regions of India to cutting-edge AR/VR technology for eye treatments and advanced AI-driven diagnostics in cardiology, there are also notable advancements in devices catering to smart pregnancy care and detecting ear-related problems in children. Hence, following a meticulous selection process, the most promising start-ups were shortlisted to participate in the final pitching round. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span>During the final pitching round, which spanned four days, a distinguished jury panel rigorously evaluated the start-ups. The calibre and diversity of the participating start-ups were truly exceptional, showcasing innovative solutions to critical healthcare challenges.</span></div>

<div>For this special occasion, Golden Agers organized a two-night stay in Ranthambore, Rajasthan, with transportation from Delhi, for senior citizens aged 50 and above. Owned and managed by MicroNet Infocom &amp; Logistics Private Limited, this travel package from Golden Agers expressed their love for the vibrant colors of Holi. Key highlights of the two-night stay in Ranthambore were a warm welcome, cultural evening, Holi celebration, festive fun, Phoolon ki Holi, and the Founder’s participation.</div>

<div>Golden Agers’ long-standing admiration for the country deeply resonated throughout the event, showcasing a heartfelt connection to India’s precious cultural energy. <div>Guests arrived in a group at the hotel one day prior to the Holi festivities. The guests were greeted with a traditional Chandan tilak tikka ceremony accompanied by dhol beats. On the first evening, guests enjoyed the performance of Rajasthani folk dance and even participated wholeheartedly. The next morning unfolded with immersive experiences. Guests played with gulal on a vibrantly decorated ground. It set a vibrant mood for the day. Nidhi Mehra, the Founder of Golden Agers, also immersed herself in the magical atmosphere of the day.</div>

<div>The cultural celebration aims to forge an enduring tie between Golden Agers and the senior citizens. The celebration included delicious Indian snacks like Dahi Bhalla, Gujia, Gol Gappe, Papdi, along with DJ, dance floor, games and lively dhol music. The celebration with colors went on throughout the evening, and the hosts also arranged Phoolon Ki Holi, totally reflecting the true joy of Holi celebrated in a family-like atmosphere.</div>
